Corrections Policy

A legal reference is only useful if it is right. If any statement on this site is inaccurate, out of date, or misleading, we want to know.

Reporting an error

Email corrections@uscriminaldefense.org with the page address, the statement in question, and if possible the source that shows the correct information.

How reports are handled

  • Reports about penalties, deadlines, or the current text of a statute are reviewed first.
  • A reported statement is checked against the official source. If it cannot be re-verified, it is removed or narrowed while under review.
  • Confirmed errors are corrected on the page, and the correction is recorded in the public corrections log.
