What does “Court appointed forensic advocate” mean in Indiana criminal law?
"Court appointed forensic advocate" means a community volunteer who: (1) has completed a training program approved by the court that includes training in: (A) the development of a person with an intellectual disability, a developmental disability, or an autism spectrum disorder (as defined in IC 11-12-3.7-2.5 ); and (B) evidence based treatment and counseling programs for a person with an intellectual disability, a developmental disability, or an autism spectrum disorder; (2) has been appointed by a court to assist a person with an intellectual disability, a developmental disability, or an aut (Ind. Code § 35-31.5-2-68.5)
