What does “Pro se defendant” mean in Utah criminal law?
"Pro se defendant" means a defendant in a criminal proceeding: (1)(e)(i) who is not represented by an attorney and has elected to represent oneself; or (1)(e)(ii) who has not yet retained or been appointed an attorney. (Utah Code Ann. § 77-4-202)
