What does “Target a law enforcement officer” mean in Utah criminal law?
"Target a law enforcement officer" means an act: (1)(a)(vii)(A) involving the unlawful use of force and violence against a law enforcement officer; (1)(a)(vii)(B) that causes serious bodily injury or death; and (1)(a)(vii)(C) that is in furtherance of political or social objectives in order to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or to influence or affect the conduct of a government or a unit of government. (Utah Code Ann. § 76-5-202)
