(1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-8-101 apply to this section. (2) An actor commits trafficking in warrants if the actor: (2)(a) is an officer of the state, a county, a city, a town, or a district; and (2)(b) directly or indirectly contracts for or purchases a warrant or order issued by the state, county, city, town, or district of which the actor is an officer, at any discount whatever upon the sum due on the warrant or order. (3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.
